Mennesker bliver påvirket i forskellig grad af dårlig luft, men det er på ingen måde sundt for nogen.

Når man opholder sig i et rum med et dårligt indeklima, kan man bl.a. få hovedpine og koncentrationsbesværligheder. Man oplever, at dårligt indeklima gør én træt og uoplagt.

I hjemmet er det et stort problem med dårlig luft, fordi mange opholder sig dér en stor del af døgnets timer, også når man sover. På arbejdspladser og institutioner kan dårligt indeklima medføre øget sygefravær og i det hele taget dårligere trivsel.

Der er lovgivning, der skal sikre, at der på institutioner og arbejdspladser sker udluftning og tilførsel af frisk luft. Generelt gælder, at luften skal være ren, og at der jævnligt skal tilføres frisk luft, så medarbejderne ikke bliver utilpasse. Der er ikke på samme måde regler for private hjem, men et ubehageligt indeklima giver lige megen mistrivsel, om det er ude eller hjemme. Heldigvis kan en DUKA ONE S6+ installeres allevegne.

Dårlig luft kan komme fra mange forskellige kilder i et rum. Luften påvirkes og forurenes bl.a. af afgasning fra byggematerialer, ligesom de maskiner, der er i rummet, kan forringe luftkvaliteten. Det kan også skabes af de mennesker, der opholder sig i rummet ved fx rygning, ligesom fysisk aktivitet spiller en rolle for, hvordan man oplever luften i rummet.

Det er klart, at det er fornuftigt at forholde sig til de af kilderne, der giver dårlig luft, og som kan påvirkes. Kan en printer flyttes, er der røg eller produktion af mad, osv. Men en del af kilderne kan man ikke undgå. Her kan man i stedet sørge for, at ventilationen i rummet er bedst mulig.
